Abstract

The quantum number

A

is re-examined in the framework of

G_{2}

. The only two outstanding difficulties of the

A

selection rule are shown in this picture to be removed. Further consequences of

A

invariance and the assignment of bosons to

G_{2}

multiplets are examined.
