Abstract
We relate here the geometric formulation of Hamilton’s principle presented in our previous paper to the usual one in terms of a Lagrangian function. The exact conditions for their equivalence are obtained and a method is given for the construction of a Lagrangian function. The formalism is extended to spinning particles and a local Lagrangian is constructed in this case also.
