Abstract
To the Editor: Autoimmune thrombocytopenia refractory to treatment with steroids and splenectomy is an uncommon but serious problem. In 1974 Ahn and his associates reported the successful treatment of refractory thrombocytopenia in patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and systemic lupus erythematosus with vincristine (N Engl J Med 291:376–380, 1974). We now report our confirming experience with vincristine in refractory autoimmune thrombocytopenia.Eighteen courses of vincristine were given to 10 patients with refractory autoimmune thrombocytopenia.
