Abstract
A pressure head on the sea bottom contains a hydraulic filter which attenuates high‐frequency signals caused by ordinary gravity waves, and low‐frequency signals caused by tides. Maximum response is for frequencies at about one cycle per 1000 sec. A strain‐gage transducer converts the filtered pressure fluctuations into electrical signals, which are transmitted to shore through a cable.
