On the Franck‐FitzHugh Model of the Dynamics of Iron Electrodissolution in Sulfuric Acid

Abstract
The Franck‐FitzHugh model describes oscillations in the iron/sulfuric acid system; one feature of the model is a discontinuous change in reaction kinetics at the Flade potential. In this note, we make the kinetics continuous and we carry out an analysis of the stability and oscillations. The results are compared to a recent detailed study of the Franck‐FitzHugh model due to Pearlstein and Johnson.
