Parasitic Protozoa from Marine and Euryhaline Fish of Newfoundland and New Brunswick. II. Microsporida

Abstract
In the summer of 1968, 34 spp. of marine fishes were sampled from Newfoundland coastal waters, the northern Grand Banks, and the Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick [Canada]. Only 2 harbored microsporidans. Glugea branchiale (Nemeczek) was recorded from 3 of 5 haddock Melanogrammus aeglefinus (L.) from the Bay of Fundy, and G. berglax sp. nov. is described from 5 of 7 roughhead grenadiers Macrourus berglax Lacepede, from the Grand Banks. G. anomala (Moniez) is reported from 3 of 48 threespine sticklebacks, Gasterosteus aculeatus L., examined in the Bay of Fundy in July 1958.
