Abstract
What is the philosophical basis of knowledge development for nursing? How can knowledge be developed and enhanced in clinical practice? The purpose of this article is to explicate more clearly knowledge acquisition and decision-making of the practicing nurse. The relationship of knowledge with decision-making is explored and implications for ongoing staff development in a service setting are delineated.Keywords
