Abstract
The first New Zealand specimens of Lycopodium serpentinum were discovered by Colenso in 1839. Later it was noted in the vicinity of Lake Tongonge by R. H. Matthews, H. B. Matthews and H. Carse. More recently it has been discovered at Rukuhia near Hamilton. As Lake Tongonge has now been drained it is of interest to record the species, growing in Sphagnum with Calorophus minor, in a swamp beside the road to Cape Karikari (CHR 194256). The swamp is on the right hand side of the road about one mile past D. Durlich Road (NZMS 1* N7/086893).Keywords
