Abstract
Coarsening of a population of second-phase precipitates in a solid affects the physical properties of the solid. A numerical model of coarsening is introduced to treat both diffusion-controlled and interface reaction-controlled coarsening. The model is based on the escape probabilities of particles from precipitates. The experimental time dependences of precipitate coarsening are obtained. Keywords
