Abstract
Surgical complications were studied randomly in 137 women with operable carcinoma of the breast, receiving preoperative irradiation or no preoperative irradiation. Wound infections and severe seromas were more frequent in patients in the irradiated group. Generally, radiation-induced complications were mild and easily manageable.
