Abstract
This paper has presented the solution of the problem of a coaxial cable immersed in a transient electromagnetic field when the cable acts as a linear antenna. The general method of solution is applicable to other cable configurations if the sheath current distribution is known. Furthermore, the results and the approach are valid not only for transient fields but also for single frequency excitation, the case considered by Harrison and King. Keywords
