Abstract
In times of organizational and professional change, professional values must be clearly identified, believed in and acted upon. Some values will be shared by all professionals, while others may present the opportunity for interprofessional conflict. Supremacy of values may be claimed when values are said to be based upon objective, scientific and authoritative knowledge. Whatever their perceived status, professional values must be respected as valid evidence of an important professional obligation that raises levels of awareness and allow the public to recognize good practice. Keywords
