Examinations were made of 214 children, including: complete medical and social history, physical condition, chest X-ray, hemoglobin typing and level, serum protein level, serologic test for syphilis, rectal tape for pinworm, and stool examination for other pathogens, with follow-up medical care. Their problems were not very different from non-Indian groups of similar socio-economic status. Greatest needs included dental care; early well-child care- prevention and treatment of otitis media, visual defects and pathogenic parasitic infections. Cooperation of the families was excellent and potentials for greatly needed effective health education were good.
