Abstract
It is shown that the formula for the probability of photoelectric counting of light in a short time in the presence of nonparalyzable counter dead-time effects may be inverted exactly. This allows the counting probability for an ideal dead-time-less counter to be derived from the probability measured with a real counter, without prior knowledge of the light intensity fluctuations. Keywords
