Abstract
Until recently the use of synthetic peptides in protease research was rather limited; this was mainly due to the lack of suitable substrates and effective reaction principles (Pearse, 1972; Smith and van Frank, 1975; Lojda et al., 1979). However, especially during the last years substantial progress was achieved in this field; it is the aim of the present report to describe the most important advances in the use of synthetic peptide substrates. Keywords
