Metabolism of Budralazine, a New Antihypertensive Agent. I. Identification of the Metabolites of Budralazine in Rats

Abstract
Ten urinary metabolites were detected and identified after oral administration. Major metabolites were 3-methyl-s-triazolo[3,4-.alpha.]phthalazine and 1-(s-triazolo[3,4-.alpha.]phthalazine-3-carboxy)-.beta.-D-glucopyranosiduronic acid. Comparison of the metabolic pattern obtained in spontaneously hypertensive rat and normotensive Wistar-strain rat was also discussed. No significant difference was observed for the time course of biotransformation rate between them.
