Abstract
Folic acid balance, studied in patients on chronic dialysis to define the mechanisms rendering them susceptible to folic acid deficiency, showed adequate folic acid available to sustain hematopoiesis and to provide mature erythrocytes with a normal complement of folic acid. Losses through dialysis were replaced from diets of estimated normal folic acid content. Keywords
