Abstract
Metapenaeus affinis is a commercaially important species of the Arabian Sea. Mature females were brought to the laboratory for spawning, and the eggs were subsequently reared under laboratory conditions up to the postlarval stage. Tetracycline was used to prevent fungal infection. Five naupliar, three protozoeal and three mysis stages together with the first postlarval stage are described and delineated by camera lucida.
