Abstract
The differential equation governing the symmetric deformations of circular cylindrical elastic shells of exponentially varying thickness is solved in terms of Kelvin functions. An application of the solution to the calculation of the edge displacement and rotation for a semi-infinite shell is also presented.Keywords
