Effects of Deprivation upon Aggression in Rats

Abstract
It was predicted that the effects of food deprivation upon spontaneous aggression in rats would be to increase the likelihood of victory. The results indicated, however, that deprivation decreased the chances of winning. The effect of deprivation upon exit latencies from the home cage was to decrease latencies. A tendency was noted for victorious rats to have shorter exit latencies than defeated rats.
