Abstract
The Oxitron biological process using the fluid bed reactor concept makes possible high rate treatment of high strength, high carbohydrate waste streams. It is expected that the process will have significant economic advantage over conventional suspended growth processes with biomass, and show capital cost reductions of 30%, and reduction of land area requirements by at least 80%. Operating costs are expected to be comparable to conventional suspended growth systems. Keywords
