PHOSPHORYLASE IN CHICK-EMBRYO LIVER

Abstract
In chick-embryo liver, up to 12th day, phosphorylase revealed histo-chemically, exists in active form only. From the 12th or 13th day, phosphorylase is found in both active and inactive forms; with the latter form predominating. In the histochemical study of the activation of hepatic phosphorylase by adrenalin the presence of adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) and Mg in the incubation medium was found necessary.
