Abstract
Congenital absence of the penis (apenia) is an extremely rare form of ambiguous genitalia that can be diagnosed at birth. If the patient is immediately and unequivocally assigned the female gender she can develop into a well adjusted woman who is emotionally and sexually functional. To attempt to raise the child as a male may be disastrous. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
