Abstract
Vivianite is not uncommon in swamp and surface deposits of Northland and South Auckland and abounds at several localities. Five new analyses of the slightly oxidised (kerchenitic) mineral from four of these localities are presented. Both concretionary and earthy varieties correspond quite closely, both physically and chemically, with unoxidised Fe3(PO4)2.8H2O.Keywords
