Abstract
To the editor: Drs. Longstreth, Malagelada, and Kelly (1) report some interesting physiologic and therapeutic effects of metoclopraminde in gastroparesis diabeticorum. As they have noted, there have been individual reports of beneficial effect of metoclopramide in diabetic gastroparesis (2, 3). We have also observed a beneficial effect on gastric motility in a young patient with severe gastroparesis. A 30-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of recurrent vomiting and poor control of her juvenile onset diabetes mellitus. Two years, before hospital admission she had had episodes of vomiting not controlled with conventional antiemetic therapy. These episodes got worse during a pregnancyKeywords
