Abstract
In a case of bullous eruption confined to the scalp, for a 25-year duration, the eruption presented the clinical features of the localized form of bullous pemphigoid described by Brunsting and Perry. The histological picture was compatible with both bullous pemphigoid and dermatitis herpetiformis. However, the immunofluorescent results and the favorable response to sulfones favor the diagnosis of bullous dermatitis herpetiformis. To my knowledge, this is the first case of localized bullous dermatitis herpetiformis that can be so designated by employing the most recent investigational techniques.
