The computer‐assisted learning (CAL) project in mathematics at the University of Glasgow

Abstract
This paper contains a brief description of the approach used at Glasgow to the use of CAL for the building of student confidence in knowledge of mathematical topics and in problem solving. Emphasis is placed on careful ‘ shredding ‘ of the mathematics, evaluation, construction of CAL units, use of graphics potential and on a projected multi‐media approach to first year teaching.
