Bethe or Bethe-like Lattice Calculations Are More Reliable Than Conventional Mean-Field Calculations

Abstract
We demonstrate that the behavior on Bethe or Bethe-like lattices are qualitatively correct even when conventional mean-field theories fail. We also give a new and direct method for calculating the bulk free energy for any model on a recursive lattice.
