Abstract
The larval development of C. mccullochi is intermediate in type between the direct developments and the more prolonged indirect developments described previously for Caridina spp. Its discovery has allowed the identification of a complete sequence of progressively abbreviated larval developments within the genus. The larval development of C. mccullochi is described in detail and a number of generalizations are discussed concerning the selective nature of the changes associated with the progressive reduction of the larval phase in the genus. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
