Abstract
This paper discusses certain extensions of Smith's method to digital, cascaded and multivariate plants. Difficulties inherent in Smith's method are discussed briefly and additions to the method suggested for plants where drift and plant/model mismatch give rise to design difficulties. Certain insights are given into the problem of mismatch of the delay model. Keywords
