Abstract
The test described in this paper show that the reluctance machine may be operated as an independent or isolated generator at a predetermined voltage and frequency, with sinusoidal wave form, by moans of capacitive excitation. Further, proper choice and arrangement of the capacitors will result in a practically flat external load-voltage characteristics. The performance analysis based on a developed equivalent circuit is given with experimental verification. Keywords
