Abstract
Herpes zoster of the larynx is more common than previously acclaimed. Herpes may be a common cause of cord palsies presently labeled as idiopathic than serological tests for herpes are needed. The cord palsy of a herpetic lesion can be short-lived and earache is a common symptom. Four [human] cases of herpes layngis are presented. The larynx should be examined in all cases of herpes zoster of the head and neck.
