Abstract
The proliferative activity of antibody-forming cells was studied in the bone marrow of mice immunized with either sheep erythrocytes (SRBC), TNP-LPS or DNP-Ficoll. Peak proliferative activity was found during the first few days of the response. Elimination of the proliferating cells in this period caused a profound and long-lasting suppression of the antibody formation in the marrow.Keywords
