Abstract
The availability of highly purified factor VIII and factor IX concentrates, as well as improvements in total joint design and operative technique, have resulted in increases in elective joint surgery in patients with hemophilia. This article presents some guidelines for medical management of these patients, and some cautionary notes based on experience and available literature. Keywords
