Abstract
To the Editor: We have previously described in the Journal a 46-year-old woman with a history of diabetes for eight years and a pancreatic islet-cell tumor containing a large quantity of immunoreactive somatostatin.1 Two other patients with somatostatin-containing pancreatic tumors have recently been described.2 , 3 Our patient continues to survive, with no symptoms, and has shown complete remission of her diabetes since resection of the tumor. Physical examination remains within normal limits, and weight has also remained unchanged at 47 kg. We had an opportunity to repeat metabolic studies 24 months after, and to compare the results with those obtained before . . .Keywords
