Abstract
H. miniaii sp. nov. (Rhodophyta, Rhodymeniales) is described from materials collected at Attu Island, the Aleutian Islands [USA]. This species is characterized by: simple and saccate fronds; conspicuously elevated hieroglyphic sori of tetrasporangia, tetrasporangial sori with characteristic paraphyses and 2 spermatangia developing on a common mother cell.
