Measurement of the Branching Ratio $\frac{(K_{L} \to γ γ)}{(K_{L} \to 3 π^{0})}$

Abstract

We have measured the branching ratio

\frac{(K_{L} \to γ γ)}{(K_{L} \to 3 π^{0})}

to be (2.24 ± 0.28) ×

10^{- 3}

. Combined with a recently reported branching ratio

\frac{(K_{L} \to 3 π^{0})}{(K_{L} \to all modes)} = 0.209 \pm 0.011

, we find

\frac{(K_{L} \to γ γ)}{(K_{L} \to all modes)}

to be (4.68 ± 0.64) ×
