Abstract
The net primary production of Corsican pine was not affected by N fertilizer in the 1st yr of application, although needle retention was increased. In the following years, applications of 168 kg N ha-1 yr-1 or more doubled both net primary production and stem wood formation. The increase in production was due to both greater needle area and an increase in net assimilation rate. The proportion of the net primary production devoted to the formation of wood was greatest at 168 and 336 kg N ha-1 yr-1.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
