Abstract
A method for carrying out Monte Carlo calculations for condensed-matter systems in the microcanonical ensemble is formulated and illustrated with example calculations. A complete statistical mechanics associated with the Monte Carlo procedure is presented. The same method applies to any of the microcanonical-like shell ensembles. Keywords
