Abstract
The geometrical-optics approximation for describing the propagation of extraordinary waves in layered-inhomogeneous planar anisotropic media can be expressed as a series of laws. The results are applied to study the optical properties of spatially, inhomogeneous nematic liquid crystal structures. Keywords
