Abstract
The bonding in high nuclearity clusters with close packed arrangements of metal atoms is dependent primarily on the radial interactions between the surface and interstitial atoms; these clusters are characterised by 12ns+Δi valence electrons, where ns is the number of surface atoms and Δi is a characteristic of the interstitial group of atoms. Keywords
