Abstract
We have demonstrated multinanometer wavelength conversion of amplitude-shift-keyed 1.5 /spl mu/m-optical signals, using cavity-enhanced four-wave mixing in an injection-locked semiconductor laser. 2.5-Gb/s operation was possible with injected signal powers as low as -29.3 dBm, due to the resonant gain of the mixing laser. We have also reported 10-Gb/s operation, the highest data rate at which this method has been demonstrated. Keywords
