Abstract
The interaction between a primary unmodulated beam of electrons and a plasma in a magnetic field was investigated experimentally. The non-convective instability, corresponding to the coupling of the slow space charge wave and the backward plasma wave, was observed and the start-oscillation condition was observed. The measured energy spectra show the presence of accelerated electrons of the beam besides decelerated ones. Keywords
