Abstract
Calculates the effective order of non-linearity k for two-photon ionisation of Cs in the region of the minimum in the cross section which occurs at about 2.6 eV photon energy. The authors show that k varies rapidly in this region, and that this variation should be experimentally observable for laser intensities of the order of tens of GW cm-2.Keywords
