Abstract
A sampling technique, utilizing styrofoam trays to trap prepupae of Liriomyza sativae Blanchard falling from tomato foliage, was evaluated for its potential use in a vegetable leafminer monitoring program. A linear regression beween the mean number of medium and large live larvae per leaflet vs. the mean number of pupae per tray was significant with a correlation coefficient of 0.876. Use of the trays to monitor leafminer populations was efficient, inexpensive, and more sensitive to population changes than leaflet sampling. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
