Abstract
Tribenzenesulphenamide reacts with triphenylphosphine and other PIII species to give Wittig-type reagents. These furnish phenylthioimino-derivatives in reactions with unhindered, electrophilic carbonyl groups. Further aspects of the chemistry of the radical (PhS)2N· have been explored, in particular the formation of new functional group systems in reactions with arylhydrazones and with C-nitroso-compounds.Keywords
