Abstract
The synthesis of some new analogues of nitrilotriacetic acid is described, and values for their acid dissociation constants and for the stability of 1 : 1 complexes formed with Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+, and Zn2+ are reported, valid for 20·0° and an ionic strength of µ= 0·1M(potassium chloride). The results are discussed in relation to data for analogous complexones, with special reference to inductive and steric factors. Keywords
