Abstract
Oxygenation of 4-nitrophenylhydrazones of α,β-enones with Co(Salpr), a five coordinate cobalt(II) Schiff base complex, results in the oxidative cleavage of the double bond in the substrate. A proposed mechanism involves the decomposition of peroxidic intermediate via a dioxetane, which is promoted by the nitro group. Keywords
