Abstract
A modified method of measuring the quantity of bixin in annatto (Bixa) preparations is described. Thin‐layer chromatography is used to separate the bixin, which is then assayed spectrophotometrically. The method of separation is very rapid and no less accurate than a paper‐chromatographic method formerly used.Keywords
