Abstract
The preparation of a high T c Y-Ba-Cu-O system superconducting filament was studied using the method of suspension spinning. The reacted mixture of the Y-Ba-Cu-O powder was suspended in PVA aqueous solution containing dispersant. The viscous suspension was extruded as a filament into a precipitating medium and coiled on a winding drum. The long filament obtained was more than 80 µm in diameter and consisted of up to 93 wt % powder content. The filament was heated to remove volatile components and to generate oxide in the layered perovskite phase. The filament heated exhibited superconductivity at 84 K.Keywords
